Facebook is the 2nd most visited site in the world with over 1.1 billion members. That’s an amazing achievement and for affiliate marketers it is a goldmine. Why? Because Facebook is set up so that you can create as many free pages as you like to promote your business…
…and because everyone can see, search and share everything, it’s so easy to promote your products.
Some people promote affiliate offers on their Facebook personal profile. I wouldn’t recommend that. Facebook profiles are meant to be social and when you start promoting items heavily it will turn people off.
How do we promote our affiliate offers on Facebook then?
Using Facebook pages.
Some of you might be wondering, “what is a Facebook page?” Here is the definition straight from their site:
“Pages are for businesses, organizations and brands to share their stories and connect with people. Like timelines, you can customize Pages by adding apps, posting stories, hosting events and more. Engage and grow your audience by posting regularly. People who like your Page and their friends will get updates in News Feed.
“You can create and manage a Facebook Page from your personal account.”
Facebook pages are awesome. You can practically set up as many of them as you like, it’s super quick and easy to do, and it’s 100% free 🙂
Within literally minutes your Facebook page is ready to go and you can start adding content to it (very easily). Here’s one of my Facebook pages:
My personal strategy is to put links on my Facebook page to posts on my blog. This allows me to ‘kill two birds with one stone’. I’m adding quality content to my blog and to my Facebook page at the same time…
…and I’m able to reach more people because some will come to my blog and others prefer to digest info on Facebook.
The trick to having a successful Facebook page is to get people to interact with you and to get as many ‘Likes’ as you can. Both these work together.
The people that ‘Like’ your page will be notified whenever you post something new to the page. If they like what you’re writing about they will comment on it themselves or maybe even share it with their family and friends. This helps to drive more people to your site and to get more ‘Likes’.
To make sure you channel this traffic correctly, make sure it is obvious on your page what it is you do, what you’re offering, and what you want them to do next, e.g. “Go to my website: www….”
