Start Your Own Blog

It doesn’t matter what niche you’re in, you need to have your own blog.

Blogs don’t build a great following overnight. Start your blog as soon as possible so it can build up in authority and traffic over time.

Don’t be concerned, in the beginning, about the look of your blog.

Content is king.

Publish content to your blog as regularly as possible, at least once a week. The more you can publish, the more traffic you will get. Period.

In the beginning, don’t get caught up in details that won’t help you to make traffic or sales.

For example; the blog theme or where you should place your banners; this doesn’t matter. Over time you can change the look and feel of your blog, add banners, fancy headers, etc.

That all can be done overnight. However, building up your traffic will take time and effort. Start there first by making sure you are contributing to your blog as regularly as you can.

A common question I get asked is…

“What can I write about?”

My response is that you can, and should, write about your journey!

For example, write about what you needed to do to set up your blog!

You can also write about a book that you’re reading… or use the notes from a webinar you attended, to write an article for your blog.

Share an experience you had with someone you just met and the conversation you had about your online business.

You can write about anything.

The most important thing is that it is about YOU and your experiences. That is what is going to make your blog successful because people want to connect with you.

So be yourself and have fun with it!

Let me give you a glimpse into what the future for you would be like with a high-traffic blog…

Firstly, you’ll have a huge following that will respond to you. If you release your own product or endorse someone else’s, you’ll have an instant windfall of sales.

Jeremy Schoemaker has a very successful blog, ShoeMoney.com. Last time I checked, the Alexa ranking was 14,555.

Jeremy gets hundreds of visitors every day to his blog. Here’s how well he was able to promote Mike Filsaime and Chris Farrell’s Affiliate Dot Com as an affiliate to his blog’s subscribers:

Secondly, having a successful blog also allows you to add new leads to your business every single day on total autopilot and without it costing you a penny.

Thirdly, other businesses will pay to advertise on your blog.

Fourth, people will give you stuff to feature it on your site.

Fifth, organizations will pay you for your expertise.

Sixth, you’ll be asked for TV, magazine and newspaper interviews and to speak at live events.

Out of small means are great things brought to pass. If you haven’t already, start your blog today.
