What’s the Best Affiliate Program For Newbies?

November 16, 2009 13 Comments

Here’s a common question asked by new affiliate marketers:

“What’s the best affiliate program for newbies?”

Without a doubt, I would have to say Clickbank. Here’s why:

  • Easy To Join. Within literally minutes you can have your Clickbank affiliate account fully active and ready to go. All you need to do is go to Clickbank.com and select “Affiliate”. Next, click on the “Sign Up” button. Then enter your details into the Clickbank Signup Form and submit it. You’ll then get an email with your login and password.
  • Heaps of Products. As you search through the Marketplace, you’ll notice that there are tens of thousands of products that you can promote. To help you sort through them all, each product is given a ranking based on sales performance.
  • Hefty Commissions. Because all Clickbank products are digital downloads and, therefore, overheads are nil to very little, affiliates can expect to earn 50% or more commission on every sale.
  • Affiliate Tools. Many of the top performing products have a dedicated affiliate tools section where you can get access to banners, articles, rebrandable reports and more. Some even offer free training on how to set up blogs, submit articles, PPC campaigns, etc.
  • No Restrictions. As long as you don’t practice any illegal or damaging promotional methods, you can promote products in any way you like.
  • Great Statistics. Within your affiliate account you can see real-time sales results and also track how well each product you’re promoting is converting.
  • Reliable Payment. Clickbank will pay you as often as you choose and they pay directly to your bank account. Because they act as the payment processor, you can rest assured that your commissions are safe.

    Thank you Chandan.

  3. I agree that Clickbank is great to start out with – one just have to research the products very thoroughly first, before starting to promote them on a blog/website. There’s a lot of crap in between, products that promise you way more than they would ever be able to deliver. Gotta steer clear of those.

  5. This is great! I have stored in mind now the SEVEN simple tips in choosing the best affiliate program for newbies like me. I’m looking forward for the updates of this blog! Good job John! Keep it up!

  6. I wish I knew what I was doing wrong with Click Bank. I tried several fairly popular software products and maybe got 3 sales in the past year. One of them was in the foreclosure area which should have sold well. I had a page on one of my high traffic sites that sold budgeting software and information on mortgages. If you have any good suggestions I would appreciate hearing them. Thanks.

    Hi Gustav,

It’s hard to give any detailed suggestions without first taking a look at your site. If you feel comfortable, post your link here and I’ll take a look.

How many visitors a month do you get to the site?

    Thanks,

    John

When i starting in the business i started with clickbank, that is when it was a doll looking site – much better aesthetics now. However, Amazon is pretty good, allthough the percentage of sales is low, unless you rack up a lot of affiliate sales. However, if you are into the health arena as i am, Nativeremedies (for natural products) and CJ has a host of phar and health related top companies. In some cases, it all depends on your niche

  11. Clickbank is the top-of-mind brand, at least over here, for affiliate marketing. That’s how powerful it is. Even for non-newbies, Clickbank is still one of the better affiliate networks out there.

I’ve joined up with ClickBank a while ago and have not made any considerable income, maybe I need to work with them a bit more. Thanks for the read though.

  13. Hi Readbud,

What methods are you using to promote Clickbank products?
