A client of mine was sharing their frustrations with me about their struggles trying to make money online and to their business to gain traction.
Here’s some of what they had to share…
“It’s been a long hard slog, but I’ve persisted, giving up has never been an option although I’d be telling a lie if it hadn’t crossed my mind over the years.
My husband hates the internet with a passion and thinks I’m wasting my time, as do most around me!! So I don’t tell them much and just want to be able to show them ‘proof in the pudding’ so I can feel more positive and even proud of the work, time and money I’ve put in.
It’s just keeping my patience and frustration in check…
These nay sayers still won’t get it, but bad luck…at least I’ll get the satisfaction and hopefully never look back or have to listen to them anymore.
You will know exactly what I mean I suspect, even though that day was quite a while back.”
Yes, I did know exactly how this lady felt, and you know what… it wasn’t so long ago I was discouraged. Actually, it happens more often than you think, even to people who look very successful.
I wanted to share with you my response to this lady’s email as the advice is important and relevant to many out there, especially those trying to make money online…
“Hi [name withheld],
It’s good that you believe in yourself. It happens to the best of us, i.e. family, friends and colleagues not believing in you…
Until the day you finally make it.
And then they call it luck!
I myself almost gave up several times when things weren’t going well… and that’s ‘after’ I became a top 100 Clickbank affiliate.
It’s definitely a roller coaster ride!
The most important is that we realise that mistakes and setbacks are an inevitable part of the journey…
And that we only fail to succeed when we give up…
And that as we learn from our mistakes and move forward, success is literally waiting for us around the corner and will come to us.
This idea is worded best by Henry David Thoreau:
“If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”
