What I wanted to talk about today was the best free and paid traffic sources for 2016.

These are traffic sources that I highly recommend.

Many of them I personally use but I don’t use every traffic source available. Sometimes it is not wise to do that. You can’t gain traction if you try too many things.

But most of these traffic sources I personally do use. Some of these I don’t but I know that they do work as they come highly recommended from people that I know that are doing very very well in Internet marketing.

Best Paid Traffic Sources for 2016

I’ll begin with paid traffic.

The reason why I’ll start off with paid traffic is because it’s very quick and easy, especially if you are starting up, to get traffic.

A lot of free traffic generation strategies take time to build up but paid traffic is instant.

PPV Networks

The first one that comes to my mind and that I personally use is PPV paid traffic, or Pay Per View.

This traffic is typically popups that will appear on people’s computer that a part of PPV networks, which they allow to appear.

Basically you can have your website, i.e. your squeeze page or landing page, literally popup before target people because you can specify when this popup appears.

An example of this would be an online florist. They would have their popup to appear when anyone is visiting any website related to florists and flowers.

You can even have your popup to appear over competitor sites!

Another reason why I like PPV is that you can target specific countries that you want your ad to appear in.

PPV advertising is also extremely low cost. We are talking less than 1 cent for your
website to actually popup.

It’s excellent for optins because you can have, for example, a squeeze page or landing page appear.

When it comes to paid traffic there isn’t a better source.

There are a lot of different PPV networks out there. I’ve tried many of the best ones, and the ones that I’ve gotten the best results with are:

Propel Media (formerly known as Trafficvance)
50onRed

Be aware that you’ll need to pony up $1,000 upfront to join Propel Media and LeadImpact. You can use that for your own advertising though.

This is a good thing for you, that there is this entry requirement, because it means less competition.

Facebook Advertising

Another paid traffic source that I highly recommend for 2016 is Facebook
Advertising.

Facebook Advertising is excellent because you can target any geographic area. This is especially good if you have a local or physical business.

You can target specific countries, states, cities, and even post codes.

It can also be very low cost if you set up your ads to target your specific audience.

You can direct traffic to your website, to your squeeze page or to your Facebook page itself.

You can even promote specific posts you’ve made on your page.

There’s a lot of things you can do with Facebook Advertising, and again, if you do wisely it won’t cost you much at all.

Google Adwords and Bing Ads

Third and final paid traffic source I want to talk about for 2016 is Google Adwords and Bing Ads.

While I don’t personally use PPC today I have definitely used it a lot in the past. It depends on what your business is but obviously Google Adwords and Bing Ads PPC can work extremely well because you can target specific keywords.

People that are searching right now for your product or service you can have your ad in front of them in an instant, which is amazing.

You can also target specific geographical areas, right down to towns and suburbs.

The only the downside of Google and Bing PPC is the cost, and especially depending on the competition in your niche.

Also their guidelines are very strict in regards to what content you can have in your ad and on your website and if you don’t set it up correctly you can pay a lot more for your ads than what is necessary.

There’s a lot you can do to optimize your ads and your website. The more optimized your ads are, the less you pay.

Even the ad in the first place can be paying less for their ads that those in the second or third spot, etc, if their ads and landing pages are more relevant and get a better response.

Best Free Traffic Sources for 2016

The top free traffic sources that are recommended for 2016 are…

Youtube or Video Marketing

There are a lot of video sharing sites out there like Vimeo and Dailymotion and I am not saying you should not be using these sites but if you only had one video sharing site that you could use, you definitely want me to be using Youtube.

Youtube gets at least 90% of all video traffic and you can set up for free a Youtube channel and upload a video of anything.

Your videos could be you in front of the camera, or a slideshow presentation, or it can be a screen capture video.

There’s a lot of different ways you can get video on Youtube and get your message out there in front of literally billions of people.

Youtube is the third most visited site in the world after Google and Facebook. You can get targeted people watching your video, and literally unlimited views, especially if your content is engaging, high-quality, controversial and/or funny.

Podcasting

Another great, free traffic source for 2016 is podcasting.

Podcasting is free to set up in itunes. It’s also a lot easier, I feel, than Youtube because a lot of
people don’t like putting their face in front of video or creating video.

Podcasting is very easy. You can quickly and easily create audio with just yourself speaking, interviewing someone, or conference calls.

Not a lot of people are doing podcasting so you can get a very good following easily; a very targeted and loyal following.

People really connect with you through podcasting. As they hear you, they get a good feel of who you are. It’s a unique way of delivering great content.

Blogging

Another great source of free traffic is blogs.

As with video marketing and podcasting, you need to be consistent with blogging to make it work.

You’ll need to publish blog posts on a regular basis, at least weekly, but the more often the better.

As with Youtube and podcasting try not to be too serious. Be yourself. Try to make our content controversial or funny, and obviously, relevant to your target audience.

With blogging, as well as with Youtube and podcasting it can be really hard sometimes to come up with topics to write about.

My advice is to create content about anything and everything you’re doing right now in your business.

Also, make sure you repurpose your content.

For example, if I am creating a podcast on the topic of ‘The Top Free and Paid Traffic Sources for 2016, what can I do is take the audio for that podcast and have it transcribed and create a blog post from that transcription.

And then what I would also do is take the audio, create a Google Slides presentation to go with it, record the presentation as a video and upload it to Youtube.

I could also take the transcription and use it in another traffic channel that I’m about to discuss…

Kindle Desktop Publishing

Amazon allows you to publish ebooks and reports to their Kindle platform, absolutely free!

If you’re purpose is to generate traffic, you can offer your ebooks and reports and a very cheap price, and even give it away free.

Kindle traffic is pure gold as it is targeted, buyer traffic. They are not freebie seekers and tire kickers.

Audible Audiobooks

I can also take that podcast recording and create a audio book that I can publish freely on Audible.

Audible is the largest online audiobook marketplace and is owned by Amazon.

Obviously, you’ll want to promote your website within your audiobook so that you get free traffic back to your website. Just like Kindle, you will get targeted, buyer leads from this free traffic source.

Udemy

One of the best new free traffic sources is Udemy.

Udemy is like an online university. There are literally thousands of courses you can take on Udemy, and many of them are free.

That’s where you come in.

You can take your content and create a free (or paid) course on Udemy and it doesn’t cost you anything to do so.

I would recommend creating a free course or relatively cheap course in your niche. It’s a great way to get a free traffic.

If I use my earlier example, I can take my ‘Free and Paid Traffic Sources for 2016’ content and create a simple udemy course on that topic.

Obviously, you would want to promote your website within the course content.

Facebook Pages

Another recommended free traffic source for 2016 is Facebook pages.

They still work very well.

Remember, Facebook is a social platform. Don’t just go about promoting your product or service. That won’t work at all.

Connect with people. Share stuff that is relevant to your followers and be sociable.

Let them know what you’re doing on a daily basis, at home and at work.

Everywhere.

Pinterest and Instagram

Another great free traffic source for 2016 I highly recommended is both Pinterest and Instagram.

If you have anything visual you want to share, whether infographics or photos, don’t just post it on your blog.

Upload it to Pinterest and Instagram.

Need help creating images? You can use the user-friendly free online image creator at PicMonkey.com.

Forums

The second last free traffic source I wanted to mention was forums.

Find forums that are very active and targeted to your audience. Participate on these forums.

The more you add value to your forum, the more people come to know, like and trust you.

How do you get traffic from forums? Many forums allow you to advertise your website in the signature section of every post you make on the forum.

Facebook and Google Business Listings

Did you know that Facebook and Google allow you to have a free business listing if you have a physical location?

Having your business appear on Google Maps and on Facebook’s locations is a great way to build your credibility and to get qualified, free traffic.

Okay, those are my free and paid traffic source for 2016. I hope you got something out of this training.

It’s so important to focus on traffic because it really is the lifeblood of your business. It doesn’t matter how great your website, sales funnel and products are…

…if you are not getting traffic to them, you won’t make any money.
