I’m going to show you how to set up a squeeze page using a free WordPress plugin called WP Lead Plus.
The first thing you will want to do is find and install the WP Lead Plus plugin. To do this, on the left-hand menu of your WordPress Dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New (see below).
In the Search field, type in “wp lead plus free” and click on the ‘Search Plugins‘ button (see below).
The first search result should be the one that we’re looking for, i.e. WP Lead Plus Free Squeeze Page Creator. Once you’ve found it, click on the Install Now link (see below).
You’ll get a WordPress confirmation pop-up window. Click ‘OK‘ for the plugin to be installed.
Once the plugin is installed, you will need to activate the plugin. Click on the ‘Activate Plugin‘ link (see below).
Now that the WP Lead Plus plugin is installed, we can begin to set up our squeeze page. To do this, click on the WP Lead Plus link in the left-hand menu and select ‘Create n Edit‘ (see below).
There are two type of squeeze page templates you can choose from with this plugin; Video and No Video. For this activity, we’re going to select the ‘No Video‘ option.
There won’t be many template choices in the free version. Once you’ve selected one, click on the ‘Edit this‘ button (see below).
Editing the template is very easy but if you do get stuck there are a series of ‘how-to’ videos for this plugin on Youtube (you can watch them here). Basically, all you need to do to edit something on the page is to click on it and then use the Editor Box to make the changes (see below).
After a few minutes, I was able to come up my own page! All that is needed to save the page is to type something in the ‘Page Title‘ field and then click on the ‘Publish‘ button (see below). Once you do this, that page will immediately be live!
There’s just one more step we need to do, and that is making our new squeeze page the home page of our domain. To do this, on the left-hand menu go to Settings > Reading (see below).
Next, choose the ‘Static Page‘ option and then your newly-created squeeze page from the ‘Front page‘ drop-down list. Click on the ‘Save Changes‘ button when you’re ready.
Congratulations! You’ve just created your own squeeze page and it is now live on your domain.
must we make our frontpage a static page before this plugin can work? what about on blog pages?.
Hi Emmanuel, you can use WP Lead Plus on any pages on your blog. It doesn’t have to be a static homepage. Thanks, John
Is the plugin still being updated?
Hi Jim! Yes, it is. According to the WP Lead Plus WordPress plugin page it was updated just 4 hours ago 🙂
Is that what you’re using, or are you currently using a different plugin?
Hi Jim,
Right now I use Sean Donohoe’s Profit Builder WordPress plugin to create my landing pages.
