Are You Limiting Your Success?

I want you to ask yourself a couple of questions:

Do you immediately discard ideas?

Are you overly skeptical?

If the answer to these questions is “yes” you are killing your chances to grow. What do you want to say at the end of your life? That it was ok? NO! You want to be able to say it was amazing!

Dealing With Negative Thoughts

Whenever your mind starts to entertain negative thoughts, say to yourself these four words, “thank you for sharing”.

You need to master your mind. Your mind will try to use these words to stop your growth, ” I know that,” but guess what, unless you’re living it, you don’t know it.

You can’t worry about what other people think of you. You can notice it but you can’t take it in. You have to deal with it. The tall poppy syndrome exists everywhere. Just say, “thank you for sharing”. Those people will not be successful.

Everything is Energy

Here’s an important statement:

“How you do anything is how you do everything.”

Everything is energy. Happiness is energy. Money is energy, big money is big energy, little money is little energy.

When you’re working, work 100%. When you’re with your kids, be with them 100%. When you’re playing, play 100%.

Completing What You Start

Most people are not successful because they don’t complete what they start. In-completion of tasks is habitual.

To get any reward for completing a 100km race, you have to finish the race! You can go 99.9km but you don’t get anything until you pass the finishing line.

Most people are experts at reasons and excuses rather than results. Complete what you start. To succeed you must complete.

If nothing was stopping you from getting you to the finish line, you’d already be there. Can we all be happy, or rich, or whatever your goal is? YES! All we need to do is identify and remove the obstacles that are within us. And that’s where the obstacles are; within us.

What are the obstacles that you have placed in your path? Do you fear success? I know that might sound strange, but apparently there are many people that have this obstacle.

Maybe you have been taught that successful people get that way because they trample others beneath them. If that is what you believe, then maybe you don’t want to be successful because you will lose your friends. Is that true? Absolutely not!

Many of us have been taught that “money is the root of all evil.” Is that true? No! Money is not the root of all evil, it’s the “love of money” that is the root of all evil. Being successful financially doesn’t mean that you have had to trade it in for your soul.

Other common obstacles are time and money, i.e. “I don’t have enough time” or “I don’t have enough money to do anything”. These are no excuses. EVERY single one of us only has 24 hours a day. No one has more time than anyone else.

When it comes to money, yes, money can certainly help you get started but there have been many people that started off with a lot of money and lost it all (because they weren’t wise in their choices), and conversely there have been many that have started off with nothing and been super successful.

In fact, if you look at most of the millionaires in the world, you will find that the MAJORITY of them are self-made.

What are the obstacles that you feel are getting in the way of you achieving success? Leave a comment below!

  1. Great post John!

This is a topic that really interests me and I think anyone interested in being an entrepreneur needs to read this post!

For a large part of my life I suffered form negative thoughts of myself becoming successful but through reading the right books, practicing affirmations, listening to people like Tony Robbins and Darren Hardy on a daily basis and applying what they teach has helped me to over come it for the most part, but I still practice some of the stuff to keep my mind focused.

Re millionaires, yes I heard over 85% of them are self-made and are people who started with nothing. Success truly lies in the mind! 🙂

    Cheers,

    Steve

  2. After reading this article, I found out that the only thing that is getting in my way of being successful is myself.
    Thanks John
