Once you’ve established your own ebooks, audio programs and/or video training, the next product you can offer to the marketplace is a coaching program. The three types of coaching you can offer is:
- Group coaching
- Live events
- One-on-one coaching
Group Coaching
Your group can be anywhere from 2 or more. Don’t overdo your group numbers.
Have a specific outcome for what your group coaching is going to achieve for your members. For example, you will help them double their website conversion rate.
Have a set time for how long your group coaching will go for, e.g. 10 weeks.
Clarify how the coaching will be delivered. Will it be a series of weekly conference call? Webinars? Online content that is drip-fed once modules are completed.
Depending on the quality and quantity of your training you can charge anywhere between $497 – $5,000 or more.
Live Events
Good idea if you have a lot of clients in the same geographical area or if the event is in an area that is easy to get to.
Live events typically go from 1 to 3 days.
You can do all the presentation or invite others that are experts in their field to present information. You can pay them to attend, or even better, invite them to attend for free and allow them to pitch their own product as part of the presentation.
Record the event. You can then sell the content to those that weren’t able to attend. This recording will also establish your credibility and authority.
The venue doesn’t need to be fancy, only professional looking. The content you deliver is the most important part of your live event.
Make sure you get video testimonials from those that attend the event.
You can charge anywhere between $497 – $5,000 or more for live events, depending on the quality and quantity of the content.
One-on-One Coaching
This is where you work with an individual or an organization one-on-one. It can be done over the phone, in person, or even over video conference calls.
Set intervals for how frequently you will communicate, e.g. weekly one-hour phone call at 4pm, Saturdays.
One-on-one coaching allows you to make a real difference in people’s lives. Many people don’t take action unless someone follows up with them. One-on-one coaching allows you to do this.
One-on-one coaching also allows you to give direction specific to your client’s needs.
Because of the value of your time and the excellent results that one-on-one coaching brings, you need to charge premium prices. One-on-one coaching can go for anywhere between $3,000 and $50,000 or more.
Getting Clients
You can offer your coaching programs as an upsell to your existing clients, i.e. those that purchased your ebook, audio program or video training series.
Another option is to pay someone to call your clients. Pay this person per coaching product sold (a commission), rather than at a flat hourly rate.
You can also have an application form on your blog or website, where people that are interested in being consulted by you can enter their details.

THANKS JOHN I HAVE LEARNED A COUPLE OF THINGS I LONG FORGOTTEN ABOUT? One thing I would like to know how to do is ! the reviews needed on e-books how did you do with that one John? I have got no-one to give written reviews, some people have said they enjoy reading, but no sales at all?
Hi Brian, it’s not too hard for me to get reviews because I have a large email list that I can send out to, asking for them to leave an honest review in exchange for a free copy of the book.
Even so, you don’t need a large list to get reviews. Simply ask your family and friends to leave an honest review for you 🙂
Sales don’t necessarily come straight away. I had one book listed for a month before the first sale, but after that I was making a sale every day.
Each book will be different. Depending on topic and how you market it. Some books will sell a lot. Others will sell very little, and maybe not at all.
