– *Community*: WordPress powers 25% and has a huge developer community so finding relevant plug-ins or getting WordPress support is easy.
– *Ease-of-use*: WordPress is easy to learn and manage for tech and non-tech team members.
– *Compatibility*: WordPress is compatible with virtually any relevant tool out there.”

*** Created My Own Website With WordPress! ***
“It’s been quite a while I was thinking about designing my company’s webpage. I got in touch with a couple of designers; however, didn’t quite like their ideas. Then I was told by one of my associates that there is an application which would allow me to design my own website without getting into the technicalities of website designing!
“This is when I came to known about the incredible application known as WordPress. I went through the internet to find about it. The more I read, more I got intrigued and then decided to give it a try. Guess what? I eventually managed to pull up my own website thanks to WordPress.
“Why I think WordPress is special?
“There are many features in WordPress which makes it special. Here are some of them which I found to be most interesting:
- Easy to Use: This is one of the aspects of WordPress which has impressed me the most. It is a very user friendly application and all I had to do was to follow the instructions. There was not a single line of coding which I had to write. It was all about mouse clicks and my innovation
- Search Engine Friendly: I was told that he websites developed in WordPress are search engine friendly. I didn’t believe it at first. However, much to my surprise, I found that my website is ranks among the top search results generated by Google and other premium search engines.
- Full Control: The fact that there is absolutely no coding required, it gives me full control over the site and allows me to add and edit features whenever I want to. It is all about a couple of mouse clicks and I got what I was looking for. I couldn’t get any easier than this
- Customizable Design: What impressed me most about WordPress more than anything else is the fact that it is customizable. I can customize the look and feel of the website to match the theme of my company and to make it look more attractive
- Easy Access: I can get access and manage my website from any computer which offers me flexibility
“Apart from these, there are many other aspects related to WordPress which have impressed me. It is one of the most easy to use applications when it comes to website designing and no wonder that it has gained tremendous popularity over the years.”

*** More At Ease With Joomla ***
“John
“At our office we use Joomla, I started it using it when Joomla was called Mambo. For me it is very easy to use plus has lots of plugins, extensions and a big community. I believe Joomla is the second CMS most used in the world after WordPress. I used WordPress in the past but since I been using Joomla for many years I find myself more at ease with Joomla. If an issue were to occurred I know where to look even on the MySQL database without being a programmer.
“I am starting to see that a lot of interesting plugins and software being develop for WordPress so my likes for Joomla may change in the near future but for now Joomla is my CMS.”
Jesus Campos – Abogados de Accidentes
*** Custom CMS Because Our Products Are Complex ***
“Hi John,
“We write our own custom CMS platform for CompanyFolders.com because our products are very complex and come with numerous configurable options. Since there wasn’t a pre-existing system that could handle such a high volume of options, we had to create our own solution.
“We also have a company blog that runs on WordPress. We love this CMS because it’s easy to use. It also comes with a variety of extensions and plugins that help us customize our blog at a low cost.”
Vladimir Gendelman – Company Folders
*** 3 CMS Reviews ***
“Hi John,
“In general, I’d recommend:
“WordPress: Flexible CMS that let’s design/development get creative and really build a solid brand. Recommend for business websites.
“Magento: Recommend for companies who want Amazon-like e-commerce functionality.
“Big Commerce: Basic, easy to use e-commerce platform for businesses who are starting out and what an e-commerce platform to leverage.”
Lauren Hong – Out & About Communications
*** WordPress is the Best For Non-Technicals ***
“WordPress is the best for non-technicals: As a non-technical startup founder, WordPress is really easy to use. They have a number of plugins and support forums that help you navigate any issue you face from a content management standpoint.”
Paul Burke – RentHoop
*** WordPress is so Easy! ***
“Hello John,
“I’ve long maintained websites online, from blogs, to home pages for my businesses. WordPress is so easy I think everyone should use it, unless they really have a need for something else. From its five minute install to being able to quickly edit and update, it gives you everything you need.”
Stephen Gibson
*** Shopify is an Awesome One-Stop Shop ***
“Hi there, my name is Jenna Ryan, CEO & co-founder of women’s health company called Uqora.
“Our CMS is run entirely on Shopify. At its core, Shopify is an e-Commerce platform. However, they’ve done an awesome job at being a one-stop shop. Their templates are slick and modern looking, and very easily customizable.
“The templates are highly customizable out-of-the-box, and also easy to customize with additional code. Shopify also has a robust ecosystem of apps that can layer in functionality to your website with hardly any setup — we’ve leveraged live chat apps, social sharing apps, an eCommerce subscription app, all of which were a breeze to integrate.”
Jenna Ryan – Uqora.com
*** I Use WordPress For Both Businesses ***
“Hi John,
“I use WordPress to run both my consulting business and my online training business. In fact, I help lots of other business owners build and optimize their online presence using WordPress.”
Kirk Biglione – Oxford Media Works
*** We Use WordPress and Hubspot ***
“Hi, I work for a small company based out of Oregon. We are an insurance company and we sell surety bond products.
“For our website, we use WordPress, and for our blog, we use Hubspot. The reason we chose each of these was largely based on our goals and what we wished to accomplish.
“For our website, we wanted the ability to change our website on our own, and have ample customization.
“For our blog, we didn’t care so much as to customization, but we cared about growing our audience with inbound marketing.
“We have seen great success with both systems. Both work well for us for our different purposes.”
Crystal Ignatowski – Surety Solutions
*** We Use 3 CMS’s For Our Clients ***
“Since we build dozens of websites each year we do use multiple content management systems. Our own site runs on WordPress because of its ease of use and large network of third party systems that intergrate with it.
“For client projects we use Drupal, WordPress, and Magento for E-commerce. The reason we use one of these if for similar reasons they all are very easy to uses and work with. They also have a large network of established plugins and systems that help cut back on custom development time for new websites.”
Mark Tuchscherer – Geeks Chicago
*** I Use Exclusively WordPress ***
“I use exclusively WordPress. Why?
- It saves me time and money.
- The greater community provides excellent support and plugin and themes.
- It also has the best compatibility with browsers and mobile browsers that I’ve seen.
- And with the exception of premium plugins or themes and hosting – it’s free.”
Josh Hatcher – Hatcher Media
*** Shopify – Robust, Easy and Expandable ***
“John,
“Prior to making our CMS decision we spent a significant amount of time testing the vast array of ecommerce CMS platforms and decided on Shopify to manage all of our ecommerce and content management. We chose Shopify for its combination of robust features, ease of use, and expandability.
“We also utilize Shopify’s POS hardware to tie all of our inventory together for easy management and monitoring. Shopify connects to our accounting software, simplifies our sales tax filings and gives great tools to grow.”
Scott DeNoon – Chappy Happy
*** WordPress – Massive Options, Robust, Customizable and Easy To Use ***
“We use WordPress exclusively due to ease of use and huge market of options for templates, plugins and other support items. WordPress is much more robust than SquareSpace or Wix but not as complicated to build or edit as Drupal, HTML or other programming languages. A WordPress site can be designed as simple or as advanced as you want/need it to be.
“We have been using WordPress for www.TheGoldingGroup.com since we launched 5 years ago.
“We also design and build websites for our clients and use WordPress for them as well. With a minimal amount of training we can give nearly complete control of the site to our client. This allows them to make regular (monthly, weekly, even daily) updates and edits.
“A website should be a functional tool, controlled by the end user to best suit their business needs. A well-crafted WordPress site gives that functionality to our clients. A functional. attractive and professional website that can be adapted as needed is what’s best for the ultimate success of our clients.”
Kyle Golding – The Golding Group
*** Custom Built CMS Is Safer From Exploits ***
“At Moving Blankets USA we use a custom built Content Management System. This allows us to work directly with a developer to easily implement custom features while still handling the day to day management of the website.
“This also protects us from public exploits and brute force hacking attempts that plague many popular solutions. While it is true other solutions can be tuned and streamlined for efficiency, our solution is lightning fast and very simple by default. We highly recommend a custom solution if you can find a solid developer to handle it.”
Dustin Montgomery – Moving Blankets
*** In The End, It’s WordPress ***
“Hi John,
“I wanted to give you my input on content management systems. I own a digital marketing freelance website and only use WordPress. I have worked with many CMS’s and WordPress is always the one I end up going with.
“Why do I choose WordPress? It’s very easy to use. Anyone can learn to use it. I believe it takes the least amount of time to build. There are also so many add-ons you can use to make your site not only look better, but perform better that are all free. For those looking to get traffic to their website, WordPress is very SEO friendly. With 1-2 add-ons, you will be optimizing your site in no time.
“The only disadvantage I see to WordPress is the updates. You need to make sure you are constantly updating your add-ons and WordPress version when needed. If you don’t, you can be open to hacking, which has happened to us.”
Jeff Moriarty – JMoriarty Marketing
*** I Build All My Sites In WordPress ***
“I build all my sites in WordPress. Not only is it easy to manipulate, but do such a content heavy site, it’s easy for authors to get in and add their stories.
“We also combine it with CoSchedule, which is a complete editorial software that integrates with WordPress. So we can go into the calendar and schedule and assign content to our writers. They receive the alerts and can easily upload their content for us to edit. It’s a great system.”
Chris Brantner – Cut Cable Today
*** Bubble CMS – Faster, More Affordable, and No Coding Required ***
“We use a new DIY technology called Bubble, which not only builds web sites and apps faster and more affordable than our competition, but also allows us to hire people with no prior coding experience.
“By using Bubble, we are pioneering a new approach to web and app building. We can create computer software, apps and websites within five days, a fraction of the time it would normally take, at a low cost of $3,000. Bubble enables our non-technical consultants to build with an eye on the business objectives, not endless lines of code.
“AirDev is basically rethinking the way software gets built and its employees are a huge part of that change. We hire well-rounded generalists who may have never coded before and teach them how to build complex software from scratch. Our workforce come from diverse backgrounds including engineering, business, design, and others, but share one thing in common: they are passionate about helping others bring their ideas to life and want to participate in the software industry.
“By hiring people with no prior code skills, our process also solves the coding technical talent shortage. Technology companies today are locked in battle for technical talent.. As a result, recent graduates from computer science programs can earn upward of $140K, while startups find it nearly impossible to hire technical experts. Our non-technical developer approach helps to relieve that pressure, offering an outsourced and low-cost alternative for companies that might have been left out in the cold.”
Andrew Haller – AirDev
*** Been Using Joomla CMS For Years ***
“Been using Joomla for years. Use it for my clients too.
“We have a thriving community of Joomla Users Joomla is completely free, open source, and not backed by a commercial concern. Completely supported by the community. WP and Drupal are commercially backed. Joomla is second most used CMS. More popular than WP in Europe and South America. Active development continues.
“Joomla has been first to adopt or innovate many important features and practices. Joomla was just approved as a sponsor for Google Summer Of Code, again.”
Mark Simko – Digifix
*** Bespoke CMS – Best Technology ***
“Hi John,
“As a business that trades exclusively online, and with ten separate websites within our group, it’s imperative that we use the very best technology, and that includes our content management systems. We invested in a Bespoke CMS several years ago, but we also utilise WordPress for our blogs and trending sections.
“Building our own means we have exactly the system that we want, written to our exact requirements. The admin interface is simple and effective for all members of the web and marketing team (the latter aren’t necessarily technical, so ease of use is incredibly important). We can also rest assured that we’re not as vulnerable to security breaches.”
Darren Green,- Roman Blinds Direct
*** We Needed a Custom CMS ***
“Although we would have liked to have used a CMS like Wordrpress or Joomla, the specific design that we wanted for our site required that we had a custom CMS built for us by a web development company.
“This required a huge amount of training for our staff to learn how to use the CMS, but was ultimately worth it as we have much more flexibility than we would have with a CMS like WordPress. We also have added security as we can add our own security measures and hackers have no idea how to operate our CMS.”
Max Robinson, – A Hume Country Clothing
*** WordPress Allows Us To Update Our Website ***
“We use WordPress as our CMS as we wanted to be able to make our own updates to our website. and we wanted to train staff who had no previous experience with web development to do this. We’d heard that WordPress was a very simple CMS to use, which is why we chose it.
“By doing this, we’ve managed to save huge amounts of money as we can handle a variety of website updates ourselves, and only require input from a web development company for complex changes or updates.”
Sam Williamson – Turnbull & Scott Heating
*** WordPress is Incredibly Simple ***
“Hi John,
“With all of my none eCommerce clients, I always look to use WordPress – the CMS I use for my own website and my company website too. The greatest thing about WordPress is that it is incredibly simple, yet at the same time can be very deep and anything you want it to be. The range of options, from stock themes up to bespoke designs and endless plugins make it incredibly versatile, which is very useful.
“For large eCommerce stores we work with Opencart. We use this platform because it has a range of great benefits, not least the fact that it is open source and free. It also supports multi store functionality, and has a simple to use admin panel, which means that customers can often manage their own eCommerce store once design and development is complete.”
Dave Hartshorne
*** WordPress is My First Choice ***
“Hi John,
“I almost always use WordPress when I’m starting up a site project. It’s my first choice because themes and plugins are always readily available so you can do anything from build a community to an ecommerce site. It’s a great way to get some revenue and traction behind your idea before investing in an actual development team.”
Lauren Proctor – Jobbatical
*** We Use WordPress Because of its Flexibility ***
“Hi John,
“With our business website we’ve been using WordPress because of it’s flexibility in terms of front end and back end. Because WordPress is very flexible and has been mostly the CMS of choice we can easily get a developer to fix or manage the website in any part of the globe, not to mention its more SEO friendly.
“Though we know that there are other CMS out there that has a good potential, for us the overall familiarity of the CMS is the most important factor of a business website that brings success to a business.”
Ulysis Cababan – RapidVisa Philippines
*** 3 Reasons We Prefer Wordrpess ***
“Hi John,
“At DrFelix, we use WordPress to sell prescription medication privately and communicate with patients seeking health services. We prefer WordPress over other CMS for several reasons.
“#1: It’s an open source platform. This means our developers can make custom changes to website and we’re not pigeon-holed into a one-size-fits-all solution. We build and customize our website based on what we see works for our customers and what can optimize the experience on the front and backend.
“#2: It has powerful ecommerce capabilities. While it may not be as intuitive as ecommerce-geared platforms like Shopify, if you’re willing to put the work in or have a talented team privy to technology, you can take advantage of powerful features. In the health industry, and especially when dealing with prescription medication, it’s critical to have resources that cater to sensitive ecommerce needs. With WordPress, there are themes and plugins for every type of website.
“#3: It’s great with SEO. WordPress helps the website appear higher in search engine results. A CMS should take care of many SEO responsibilities, and this platform ticks all of those boxes. It has excellent coding standards, XML sitemaps, robust navigations, social media integration and image optimization. Additionally, there are dozens of amazing SEO plugins like Yoast that ensure you’re on the right path towards the first page of Google.”
Samantha Cortez – Dr. Felix
*** WordPress is the Most Flexible CMS ***
“Hi John,
“We use WordPress, because it one of the most flexible CMS ever created. You can not only create any type website (from a simple blog to an eCommerce site), but it’s also very easy to use.
“I don’t even imagine working with any other CMS.”
Marius Kiniulis – MarkinBlog.com
CMS Reviews – My Choice
When it comes to Content Management Systems, my choice is also WordPress. I’ve created literally hundreds of websites on WordPress and have been exposed to other platforms, such as Drupal, Joomla and others.
There are many reasons I use WordPress. Most of which have been mentioned above.
When it comes to functionality, nothing beats WordPress. There is literally a plugin or widget for anything you need done on your website.
For example, I was working with someone that wanted to host a podcast. With WordPress, it’s no problem. Unfortunately, this particular person’s website was on Joomla. Joomla no longer offers podcast support.
I’d love to hear your CMS reviews. Leave a comment below!
WordPress is actually a number one choice for them who needs a website that requires regular updating of content especially without the need of a developer.
WordPress is the content management system that doesn’t require any technical knowledge, even a layman can access with little help.
I would also vote for WordPress.
Hi John!
Thanks for this blog review on the best CMS. I myself, am WordPress user. It is very easy to use, even if you are just starting as a blogger and may have a little to no knowledge how to start your own blog. With its upcoming updates this 2018, it is bound to be more user-friendly. Great post!
