Giveaway Events
Giveaway events are a great way to get lots of targeted, free traffic to your site and to build up your email list.
Once I had about 20 subscribers on my list I started promoting free giveaways and only after a couple of months I had over 300 subscribers!
Here’s how free giveaways work:
1. Find out which giveaways are going to be launching in the near future and sign up for a free account.
Note: When you sign up for a giveaway, you’ll be asked if you want to upgrade to Premium membership. This will cost anywhere between $7 to $47. Upgrading will get you more subscribers and can make you money as well if you have a special offer. In the beginning, I recommend you refuse the first offer but take up the second upgrade offer; it’s a little cheaper but offers the same benefits.
Here’s some giveaway events that are accepting contributors right now (updated daily):

2. Once you have your account, you’ll want to add your free gift.
My purpose in using giveaway events is to build up my email list so what I do is have a landing page set up with a free report and video ecourse offer.
Need help setting up a landing page? Check out my landing page handbook.
3. Promote the giveaway with your unique referral link.
Within your giveaway account, you’ll be given a unique referral link. The more people you refer to the giveaway, the more your free gift will be shown to others.
Using free giveaway events is a great way to quickly build your list from a few members to 300 or more. Once you have reached this stage you are then ready to take your list-building to the next level with email adswaps.

Hey John, I think this is great teaching. You are where you are today because you do not mind helping others and I am grateful for that. I have a question am I just promoting to my list? I followed what you said about the traffic swarm and I have 12 subscribers, how does gift events work to add more subscribers?
Thanks in advance for the advice,
Quentin Whidbee
Hi Quentin,
What you’ll want to do is join upcoming giveaways as a Contributor and then when the giveaway starts, send an email to your list telling them about the giveaway, using your member referral link (usually you get this under the ‘Promote’ section of the giveaway backend).
The more people that you refer to the giveaway, the more points you receive and the more exposure your gift gets in the giveaway. When the giveaway members see your free offer, they can get it by signing up through your landing page which means more subscribers for you.
I hope that makes sense.
It’s great to see you taking action. You’ll be surprised that not many do… it’s what separates the dreamers from the achievers
Wishing you all the best,
John
Hi John,
How do I find out which give away events are the best?
I am building my list from scratch now as you recommended with traffic exchanges. I would like to ask you, how long did it take for you to build a 500 subscribers list for you using giveaway events?
Do you create your gifts by yourself or do you just take plr content, edit it a litle bit? I am having hard time creating my free gifts!
Do you think it is good to offer the same gift in every giveaway event?
Matt Poc
P.S. Thanks for cool information in http://www.makemoneyonlinewithjohn.com which I will use and implement! By the way, don’t you think that it would be better to link to a review site from article directory, which I have created from articles content instead of linking straight to product which I am promoting (the reason why I think it would be better is I put my opt-in form in that mini review site from where I would get several extra opt ins)
If yes, maybe it would be even better if I put my other submitted articles to that site?
Thanks for the feedback Matt.
It’s hard to remember how long it took me to get to my first 500 subscribers. It took me at least 2 months I think. I use mainly PLR content. It’s quick and you can find a lot of really good stuff for free. Sometimes it’s a good idea to edit the content by replacing the links already in there with your own affiliate links. Besides that, don’t spend a lot of time editing the content. Focus on building your list and monetizing it with good one-time offers and recommending quality products and/or services.
Yes, it’s okay to offer the same gift in every giveaway event.
The Quick Online Cash Formula (available at http://makemoneyonlinewithjohn.com) is designed to get newbies making money online fast. That’s why I have it direct linking to the Clickbank products. It can be very daunting setting up a review site if you’ve never created a website, let alone registered a domain before
Of course, sending traffic to a squeeze page or review site will give you better conversions.
There are follow up video tutorials, for subscribers to http://makemoneyonlinewithjohn.com, that go into step-by-step detail on how to set up a squeeze page and offer free reports.
